Pietro PARBONI (Italian school engraver active during the first half of the 19th century) "La Cuccagna" Original etching from a subject by Claude de Lorrain (Chamagne 1600 - Rome 1682), printed, published and sold in Rome by publisher and merchant of prints Nicola de Antoni in his shop in Piazza di Spagna at the beginning of the 19th century. Nice specimen complete with the imprint of the slab and with good margins, with a tear restored at the low edge that partially touches the legend, slight burnishing and a few other minimal defects at the edges but overall in good general condition. The original painting was commissioned to Lorraine by Pope Urban VIII and was executed in Rome, together with three others, in 1637. Bibliography: LeBlanc "Manuel de l'Amateur d'Estampes" Paris 1856 vol.3 pag.139 n ° 20 . Milesi "Dictionary of Engravers" Bergamo 1989 pag.248. Measurements in mm: 480 x 600
